John Etten is a seasoned leader with a passion for preserving craftsmanship and tradition. As President of Heritage Collectables, Inc., he oversees a brand renowned for its high-quality knives and commemorative firearms, which blend artistry with utility. With decades of experience in the industry, John is dedicated to upholding the company's legacy of excellence while fostering innovative collaborations with esteemed artisans and knife makers.
A strong advocate for giving back, John has spearheaded numerous initiatives to support military organizations, reflecting his commitment to honoring service and sacrifice. His vision continues to guide Heritage Collectables as a trusted name for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Dennis Friedly
Dennis Friedly, a master custom knife maker from Cody, Wyoming, brings over 50 years of unparalleled craftsmanship to the art of knife making. His expertise has played a pivotal role in several of Heritage Collectables' most notable projects, including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation commemorative series, the University of Wyoming edition, and numerous donation programs.
One of Dennis's custom knife designs raised an impressive $50,000 at a Wounded Warrior Outdoors auction, showcasing the exceptional value and artistry he contributes to our efforts. Heritage Collectables is proud and deeply honored to have Dennis as a cherished member of our team.
Sandy Brady
Heritage Collectables is honored to have renowned scrimshaw artist Sandy Brady as a valued member of our team. Since beginning her career in 1976, Sandy has transformed the art of scrimshaw into a contemporary masterpiece, creating exquisite "objects d'art" cherished by collectors worldwide.
Reflecting on the origins of her craft, Sandy once noted, "Scrimshaw was an obscure art, etched by old salts, Eskimos, and occasionally a real artist." With a vision to bring a modern flair to this ancient tradition, Sandy has not only realized her dream but also elevated scrimshaw into a celebrated art form that resonates with today’s collectors and enthusiasts.
David Yellowhorse
David Yellowhorse and Heritage Collectables have partnered since the mid-1990s, beginning with a chance meeting at a knife and gun show in Reno. Captivated by the artistry of David’s custom knives, I invited him to transform the Cutco Bullwhip folding knife into a signature Yellowhorse design featuring a Buffalo motif. The resulting Bullwhip Limited—a 100-piece, numbered edition—sold out quickly and marked the start of a lasting collaboration.
We later introduced the Collegiate Collection, showcasing officially licensed designs for six universities, and have since partnered on numerous limited editions and fundraisers, raising over $400,000 for charitable causes. Beyond our business relationship, David remains a valued friend and continues to create exclusive, one-of-a-kind commemorative editions for Heritage Collectables.
I've heard alot of good things about this place and their customer service.
